Cathleen McGinty Campbell, age 88, of Washington Township, died Saturday, January 17, 2015. She was born on July 18, 1926 to the late, John Francis and Pearl (Hostettler) McGinty.
In addition to her parents, Cathleen is preceded in death by her brother, John Francis McGinty; and Harriett Louise Steele; husband, James M. Campbell; daughters, Jane A. Mattern and Mary Campbell; son, Jerome Francis Campbell; and granddaughters, Jamie L. Campbell and Brenna M. Sinclair.
Cathleen was born and raised in Uniontown, PA and graduated with an RN in nursing from Alleghany General Hospital. She and husband "Jim" of 49 1/2 years had nine children.
Cathleen is survived by her children; James (Sue) Campbell, Son-in-Law, Michael Mattern, Rebecca (William) Sinclair, Karen (Paul) Koepfer, Chrysa (Randall) Fulchiero, Jeffrey (Linda) Campbell, Richard (Kathy) Campbell; six grandchildren, Ryan, Michael, Erin, Ian (Abbey), Rachel (Stephen) and Kaitlind; and great-grandchildren, Mikey and Lucas.
Cathleen was currently a parishioner of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, Kettering, OH and participated in a Seniors Small Faith Group, helped escort residents to Mass or Prayer service at Lincoln Park and Senior Luncheon. She was a devoted wife and mother, was devoted and passionate in her Catholic Faith, and was dedicated to her many different nursing positions. She was an avid reader and loved music, especially the symphony. She was a "gentle woman" who loved people and was kind to everyone.
The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Wheaton, the Carlyle House Staff, Hospice Care, and her devoted friend and care giver, Sherrie Kurpiel.
Visitation will be from 10am 11am on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with a prayer service immediately following, which will be officiated by Father Gary Aultz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Sts. John and Paul Catholic Church, Sewickley, PA. Interment to follow at Lafayette Cemetery.
