Cecil Ralph York

YORK, Cecil Ralph, age 78, of Kettering died on June 13, 2004. Cecil was born in Shirley, TN, September 13, 1925. He retired as part owner from Hughes Bechtol after 42 years. Following his retirement he continued as a mechanical engineering consultant. Cecil and his wife, Nancy of 49 years, owned 50 acres in Greene County and RV’d extensively through Canada and the United States. He was a lifetime member of ASHREA (the American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, Inc.), where he served as president of the Dayton Chapter from 1965-1966. Cecil was a WWII Veteran serving in the Army Signal Corp in the European Theatre. He was also a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church. Cecil was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Jane (Patterson) York, his parents, Omer and Ethel (Jones) York and 3 brothers, Alvin, Wilbur and Donald York. He is survived by three daughters; Karen Marie York of Kettering, Patti Ann Doellinger of New Freedom, PA and Linda I. Baxter of Zionsville, IN; 2 sons-in-law, D. Douglass Doellinger and Stewart N. Baxter; 6 grandchildren, David and Paul Doellinger, Christine, Nielson, Andrew and Sarah Baxter and dear friend, Betty Stanley; 2 sisters, Lou Heizer of Kettering and Vivian Posey of Mt. Joliet, TN; 6 brothers, Harold of Beavercreek, Robert of Toledo, OH, Eugene of Jamestown, TN, Allen of New Carlisle, OH, Ronald of Sunbright, TN and Charles Edward York of Maumee, OH; 2 brothers-in-law; 7 sisters-in-law and more than 30 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering with Rev. David Doellinger officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
