THOMPSON, Cecil R., age 93, of Kettering passed away at Miami Valley Hospital, August 2, 2005. Cecil was born in Dayton, OH to William A. and Ada (Norris) Thompson on January 30, 1912. Preceded in death by his wife, Harriet (Kramer) Thompson and brother, William A. Thompson, Jr. Survived by his son, Thomas (Judy), of Oakwood; daughter, Suzanne (John) Finke, of Kettering and grandsons, Christopher (Lynn) Thompson, of Kettering, Brian Thompson, of Bridgehampton, NY and John (Jessica) Finke, of Nashville, TN. Cecil served as chairman of the board of Toolcraft Products, Inc. succeeding his father, who founded the company in 1939. He was a member of the Dayton Valley of Scottish Rite and Millennium Lodge # 779 F&AM, the Agonis Club and the Dayton Country Club, where he enjoyed many happy hours on the golf course. Cecil was recently recognized as the longest surviving graduate of the Embry-Riddle Flying School at Lunken Airport in Cincinnati, OH, where he received his diploma on October 19, 1929. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 6th at the Routsong Funeral Home, 6 Oakwood Ave., at Irving, Oakwood, with Rev. Brooks Heck officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 AM at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Miami Valley Hospital (SAC Advanced Care and 3 NE Pulmonary Unit) and Bethany Lutheran Village BRC for their dedicated care of Cecil. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
