BURNETTE, Charles, age 88, of Waynesville, formerly of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Spring City, TN on July 9, 1925 to the late Willard and Lilly Burnette.
Charles loved to fish. He enjoyed spending six months out of the year visiting Lake Erie's South Bass Island and he spent every one of those days fishing. He spent the other six months in Florida, doing much the same. Charles was known for his greeting, "Good Morning, How's Fishing?"
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Lois Puckett and Marie Gibson, brother, Cleady Burnette, 1st wife, Ruth, and 2nd wife, Mary Belle. Charles is survived by his brothers, Gene (Betty) and Don, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Quaker Heights Community Care and Hospice of Dayton for their care and compassion.
Family will greet friends from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering with a funeral service following at 11:00am. Burial will be held at Byron Cemetery. The family would like to invite their guests back to the funeral home following the burial for a reception.
