Bowden. Along with his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Nancy Joann (Daniels) Fleming; brother, George Alfred Fleming II; and stepmother, Loretta (Dixon) Fleming. Charles was a retired Technical Sergeant (TSGT) in the United States Air Force, where he served honorably for 20 years. His military career was marked by his unwavering commitment to his country, with 11 of those years spent overseas. During his service, he was notably involved in Project 404 in Laos, covert operations during a critical period of the Vietnam War. Charles was exceptionally proud of his military service and described the years he spent serving as “the best years of his life.” He was a wonderful and caring father and grandfather. When he was not with his loving family, Charles could be found in his yard or shining his cars. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy will be remembered and cherished by his family.
