Charles L. Smith

SMITH, Charles L. (Charlie), age 83 of Bellbrook, OH went to Heaven on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 in Dayton, OH. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings. He retired from the US Navy in July 1969. Charles had a long career in the building industry with Johns-Mansville and retired from Mueller Roofing in December 2008. Charles also was an active longstanding member of the Dayton Home Builders Association. He graduated from Huntington High School in West Virginia and attended Marshall University. Charles is survived by his wife of 38 years; Jeane (Gouchie) Smith, five daughters and sons-in-law; LeeAnn O’Rourke of KY, Shari (Jack) Bowman of Centerville, Holly (Ken) Hall of Centerville, Alison (Rob) Timmons of Centerville and Leslie (Bill) Shoup of Tampa, FL, 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH with Pastor John Bradosky officiating. Burial will be in Bellbrook Cemetery in Bellbrook, OH. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to service time on Saturday.
