Cindy Bellows Kennedy

KENNEDY, Cindy Bellows, age 61, of Dayton passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014. She was born on March 11, 1952 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Henry and Kathryn Bellows. Cindy earned her Masters and Undergraduate degrees from the University of Dayton. She taught Psychology for 30 years at Sinclair Community College until her retirement and also taught part time at UD. Cindy earned the National Master Teachers Award in Psychology and the Merritt Award for Excellence in Teaching at Sinclair on multiple occasions. She was very involved with her neighborhood and enjoyed gardening, mineral collecting and sports. Cindy was an active member of Eastwood Eagle Watchers of which the eagles of Dayton were named in honor of herself and her late husband Jim. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Kennedy. Cindy is survived by her brother, Henry (Beverly) Bellows of New Orleans; sister, Sharon (Ben) Jewell of Louisville, KY; beloved nephew and niece, Michael (Jill) Jewell and Missy (Doug Sheffer) Jewell; and faithful companion, her golden retriever Quincy. The family would like to thank Vicki, Martha, Kristi, Connie and Barbara for their love and support. Family will greet friends from 4:00-8:00pm on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Sunday, February 23, 2014 also at the funeral home. Family will greet friends following the service for a reception until 2:00 pm. Expressions honoring her memory can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, 4 Paws for Ability and the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.
