SWARTZ, Clarence L., age 85 of Dayton, passed away Monday, March 3, 2003. Clarence was a past member of the Eagle Lodge Erie #321 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Beavercreek. He worked with his father at the Swartz Lumber and Gravel Yard and later retired from South Western Portland Cement Company in Fairborn in 1983. Preceded in death by his parents, George and Ida Mae Swartz, his sister, Ada, two brothers, Howard and David Swartz and a grandson, Timothy Sage. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Ellis of Dayton; 2 daughters, Mary (Don) Adams of Dayton, Trudy (Chuck) Mitchell of Kettering; grandchildren, Richard Brewer, Chris (Janet) Brewer, Jack Sage and Tammy Sage; great grandchildren, Candice, Kasey, Cory, Brittany, Kate, Kristin, Kylee, Michael and Tara; 1 great great grandson, Waylon Hawk; a sister, Virginia McConnell and a brother, Robert Swartz. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Rev. David Swartz officiating. Burial in Valleyview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM , Thursday, at the funeral home.
