age 88 of Centerville, died Saturday, June 23, 2001. He was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church where he was Choir Director for 40 years. Clark graduated from The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music in 1935 and received his Masters from Ohio State University in 1942. He taught music at Centerville at 19 years of age while he was attending college in Cincinnati. Clark was hired Van Buren Township to teach music at Farimont High School in the late 1930's, and was Director of the Band, the Choir and the Orchestra. He retired in 1973 as Assistant Superintendent of Personnel after 40 years with the Kettering School system. Clark was one of first recipients of Chester A. Roush Hall of Fame. He played in the Armco Band under the direction of Frank Simon. Clark was the director of the NCR band for many years; he organized and directed the Dayton Philharmonic Band and was director of the Philharmonic Choir. He was chosen Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year in 1948; was President of OMEA and an editor of the Triad. He was a member of Masonic Lodge in Dayton; Scottish Rite, Jesters; 33 Degree Mason and past member of Oakwood Kiwains. Survived by his wife Ruth of 63 years; daughter, Susan Haines. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 27 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1001 Harvard Blvd., Dayton with Dr. Bryan Palmer Smith officiating. Private burial in David's Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering.
