MITTLEBEELER, Clinton Ray, 70, of Centerville passed away Friday, March 15, 2008 at his home. After Clint graduated from the University of Louisville in 1968, he began work in the Electronic Warfare Engineering Division of the Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a junior engineer. He went to the University of Dayton in 1978 to obtain a masters degree in engineering management. Upon completion of his work at the University of Dayton he returned to ASC/RW as the lead avionics engineer for Electronic Warfare, where he was responsible for the engineering support to the EW SPO. In 1991 Clint was selected for and promoted to the position of Air Force Chief Systems Engineer in the Joint Advanced Attack Aircraft (AX) program office at Naval Air Systems Command in Washington D.C. He returned to Wright-Patt and assumed the duties of Director of Engineering for the LANTIRN program office until he retired in January of 2003. Survivors include his sons Mike (Verlinda) Mittlebeeler and Eric (Robin) Mittlebeeler; granddaughter Erica Mittlebeeler; companion Julie and beloved dogs Coeur and Noelle. A celebration of Clint's life will be held at Cena Restaurant, 2854 Miamisburg Centerville Rd (Dayton Mall) MONDAY March 17, 2008 from 5-8 pm.
