Col. (Ret.) Joseph R. Regelski

REGELSKI, Colonel (Ret.) Joseph R., age 68, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2006 of A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig's disease) at his home. Joe was a member of the Church of the Incarnation in Centerville. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Syracuse University in 1960, attended Command and General Staff school and was a graduate of the United States Army War College. Joe was a 30 year career Army Officer, who retired in 1991. He was stationed in many different areas in the United States and Europe and was decorated many times. He served 2 tours in Vietnam, 1963-1964 as an advisor to the A.R.V.N., from 1967-1968 with the 101st Airborne and one tour in Korea in 1972. After retirement, he worked part-time at Woodcraft and was an avid woodworker. Joe was a past President of Western Ohio Woodworkers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph A. and Catherine Regelski. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Margaret (Midge); sons, William A. (Kristy), Joseph R. Jr. (Kathryn) and Christopher J. (Janel); grandchildren, Anthony, Alena, Chelsea, Matthew Moreland, Andrea, Chyrsten and C.J.; and sister, Doris Kilcoin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday November 14, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville, with Father Pete Helmlinger officiating. Burial in David's Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday from 5-7:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home 81 N. Main St., Centerville.
