Conrad Lee Slorp, age 91, of Dayton, OH, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
A Dayton native, Conrad was born on February 24, 1934, to the late Clifford and Edith Slorp. He graduated from Stivers High School and spent 19 years of his career with NCR. After NCR closed, Conrad continued his career with GM at their Delco plant, where he worked as a technical inspector until his retirement.
He met the love of his life, Cheryl Simon, when he was in his fifties. They were blessed to spend over 35 years together, before her passing mere weeks before Conrad. The pair spent their golden years travelling, dancing, attending events at NCR Country Club where they were members, and caring for their beautiful home.
Of all his accomplishments in life, Conrad was most proud of his only child: his son, Mark. While Mark was growing up, Conrad worked second shift and was always there to help his son to the bus stop in the morning. They spent most Saturdays together at the fairgrounds where Mark played in the NCR youth basketball league. Conrad also had a love of cars and racing, especially Corvettes, and in his younger days, he reveled in the opportunity to take his son with him to car shows and races such as the Indianapolis 500 and Gator Nationals.
Conrad is survived by his son Mark Slorp (Michele Blakeman, partner), and grandchildren Mark and Ashley Slorp. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved partner of over 35 years, Cheryl Simon.
A Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00pm on Saturday, May 3, at Routsong Funeral Home (2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering, OH), with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00pm. Conrad’s final place of rest will be Dayton Memorial Park.
