Corinne Geraghty

GERAGHTY, Corinne Mulroy, age of 84, of Kettering, died peacefully at home with her family by her side on March 29, 2016. Corinne was born on May 31, 1931 in Beaver Falls, PA to Andrew and Mary Gallagher Mulroy. She attended St. Mary's Grade School in Beaver Falls, PA, and graduated from Beaver Falls Senior High School in 1949. She graduated from The Providence Hospital School of Nursing in 1952. In 1957, after graduating from St. Louis University with a Bachelor of Sciences degree, she continued her nursing career at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, OH. She and Edward were married in October of 1958. While raising her six children she returned to a nursing career with a focus on education. In 1985, she completed a Masters of Arts degree at Wright State University. She retired from Good Samarian Hospital in 1994. She was accomplished at sewing, crocheting and repurposing furniture. Her cooking skills were legendary and she never tired of hosting family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and she had a passion for all things musical. She will always be remembered for her unwavering and tireless service to others. She is preceded in death by her two sisters-in-law, Mary Alice Geraghty and Kay McElwain (Geraghty). Corinne is survived by her husband, Edward; children, Edward (Maureen) Geraghty, Mary (Frank) Ellert, Margaret (William) Foster, Michael (Jennifer) Geraghty, Joseph (Mary Clare) Geraghty, and John (Sheela) Geraghty; grandchildren, Connor, Tommy, Clare, Margaret, Joe, Tim, Sarah, Andrew, and Elizabeth Geraghty, Fritz and Jack Ellert, and Emma Foster; sister, Mary Pat (Jack) Tress; brother, Joseph Mulroy; brother-in-law, Jim McElwain; sister-in-law, Peggy Carroll (Geraghty); brother-in-law, Jack Carroll; brother-in-law, Tom Geraghty; and sister-in-law, Suzanne Geraghty; and numerous nieces and nephews and many close and dear friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday evening, April 1, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at St. Charles of Borromeo Catholic Church, 4500 Ackerman Boulevard, Kettering.
