Dale Brokaw Nelson

NELSON, Dale Brokaw, Ret. CDR, U.S. Navy Reserve, age 76. Beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at home on Oct. 31, 2010. Resident of Centerville, OH, Dale was dedicated to family and country. He served in numerous military and civilian capacities, including U.S. Navy Reserve, U.S. Army (Europe), U.S. Marines, and was employed with USAF FTD and DESC. He retired with 32 years of federal civil service, including 16 yrs. in Aeronautical Systems Division, WPAFB, and 12 years in Foreign Technology Division, WPAFB. Graduated '52, Fairview High School, Dayton, OH; '56 Miami University, OH. Member of Christ United Methodist Church and numerous veterans and support organizations. Preceded in death by parents Helene B. and Paul "Putty" Nelson, and Sister Patsy Nelson Jones. Survived by wife of 52 years Marlene W. Nelson.; Daughters Kristen Thorez (Gerard) and Stephanie Nelson Owen (Andy); and grandchildren Madeline & Samuel Owen and Alex Thorez. Visitation from noon 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5 at Routsong Funeral Home, Centerville Chapel, 81 North Main Street, Centerville. Funeral and burial (David's Cemetery) will follow visitation.
