Daniel Francis Wagner

WAGNER, Daniel F., age 40, of Edina, MN, died Friday, April 23, 2004, at N.C. Little Memorial Hospice in Edina. He was born Nov. 4, 1963. Dan graduated from Alter High School in 1982 and was a graduate of University of Dayton, class of 1986. Through high school and college, he owned a tree trimming and removal business. (Dan always loved to climb trees.) After graduation, he was employed for almost 18 years by Cintas Corporation, where he was a general manager. Daniel was a 2 time participant in the Chicago Marathon. In 1993, he married Jennifer Wagner(Thomas), his true love and soul mate at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dayton. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Wagner. Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Lynn; daughter, Madeline; 2 sons, Zachary and Samuel; mother and stepfather, Sue and Jerry Schmidt; 3 brothers, Robert (Anita) Wagner, William (Terry) Wagner and Lawrence Wagner; 2 sisters, Annette and Michelle Wagner; parents-in-law, Dr. Edward R. and Pamela “Nana” Thomas; sister-in-law, Molly Thomas; brother-in-law, Robby Thomas; and grandparents-in-law, Donald and Margaret Saunders. Dan has many friends from all walks of life. He cherished them all. The most important things in his life were his wife and 3 children. Dan enjoyed trips up north (MN) fishing, being at the beach in Siesta Key, FL and Burt Lake in MI. His life was interrupted much too early by a courageous battle with cancer. He will be remembered by his wonderful smile, his tenacious attitude, his great sense of humor, and his willingness to help a friend or stranger and mostly his undying devotion to his family. Dan made it a point to pass on by example to those around him the values of honesty and hard work. If life is a game, he was a champion. If it is a battle, Dan won the victory of eternal life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, at St. Albert the Great Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering. Entombment will be in Woodland Mausoleum. The family will greet friends from 5 – 8:00 PM, Friday, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering.
