Darrell F. Rath

Darrell, F. Rath, age 78, formerly of Centerville, passed away Sunday November 20, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. He was the son of Frank and Lois Rath. Born in Dayton, OH December 11, 1937, he lived most of his life in Kettering, OH. Darrell retired from General Motors as a tool and die maker. He was an active member at Faith Lutheran Church for 54 years. He was also a member of Alpha Lodge #729 for 50 years as well as Scottish Rite. Darrell is Survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn M. (Weaver) Rath, Daughters; Debbie Stringer and Stephanie Hollingsworth, son, Mark (Jamie) Rath, Grandchildren; Chris (Maura) Stringer, Kevin (Julie) Stringer, Andy(Julie) Rath, Tyler Rath, Ashlie and Justin Shupert and Shelby Hollingsworth. Great Grandchildren; Peyton, Mila, Gunnar Stringer; Aiden, Nolan and Adalyn Stringer; Porter and Lachlan Rath. Darrell was a very loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Lois Rath, In-Laws Ward and Ethel Weaver, Son-in-Law Gary Stringer, Brothers-in-Law Elmer Shepherd, Richard Jackson. Nephew Raymond Haager, Nieces' husband Paul Kiefer. A special thank you to our Pastor and Faith Lutheran Church family. Thank you to the Dr.'s and Nurses at Kettering Hospital and Hospice of Dayton, who all took such great care of Darrell, but most of all our children and grandchildren who gave faith, hope and love, but the greatest was love. The family will receive friends from 10:30AM to 11:30AM on Friday November 25, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road., Kettering, OH. Funeral service will be held at 11:30AM on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home 2100 Stroop Road Kettering Ohio 45429 with Pastor Brian Nunnally officiating. Interment in David's Cemetery 4600 Mad River Road Kettering, Ohio 45429. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Memorial Fund or Hospice of Dayton
