David Lee Jones

Jones, David Lee, age 86, of Kettering, OH, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024. David was born April 29, 1938, in Dayton, OH to the late Chester and Myrtle Jones. He is preceded in death by sisters, Betty Sue Jones and Lorna VanMeter and his brothers, Gene and Jack. A graduate of Wilbur Wright High School, David loved his dogs, watching movies and was always joking around with friends and family. As the neighborhood repairman, David enjoyed meeting neighbors through fixing their lawn mowers. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Penelope; daughter, Brenda Jones and her children, Brayden and Rheanne Jones; daughter, Debra Purdy and her children, Samantha (Zachary) Gray, Peach and Mikenzie Purdy; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Scarlett, and Nora Gray; sister, Sherry Logan and many nieces and nephews. David’s wife, Penelope, would like to especially thank their daughter, Brenda, for being a devoted caregiver to her father. Services will be held August 9, 2024, at 6:00pm with visitation at 5:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH.
