Debra J. Lucas

LUCAS, Debra J., age 53 of Oakwood, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at her residence after a long, brave battle against breast cancer. Debra graduated from Cambridge High School, Cambridge, Ohio, in 1973, and received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University and her MBA in Healthcare from Auburn University. She worked as a Pharmacist for Curascript where she spent over 6 years counseling cancer patients and working with oncology offices. Debra was very active in her community. She volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, traveled to Honduras on a medical mission in 1995, was the volunteer Pharmacist for Reach Out of Montgomery County and served on the board of directors for The Noble Circle Project: A Community of Women Surviving Cancer. Debra loved gardening, stained glass, working on her home and being with her dogs "Lilly" and "Logan". Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rose Lucas, and her brother, Jerald Lucas. Debra is survived by her sisters, Patricia (Phil) Tidd of Seneca, SC, Judith (John) Davis of Cambridge, OH and Michelle (Julius) Capers of Pleasant City, OH; nieces Lauren Watson and Whitney Tidd; nephews Benjamin Davis and Dr. Michael Davis; nieces Courtney Ryan and Tiffany Capers; two great-nieces, Lilah and Ava Watson, and one great-nephew, Owen Ryan; her sister-in-law Judy Lucas as well as many special friends, including Dr. Pamela Werner, Allison, Lindsay and Matthew Richard, and high school friends, Sandy Scholl and Debbie McKim. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering.
