Debra Lynn Hurley

HURLEY, Debra Lynn, "Debbie" (nee Nichol), age 54, of Centerville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Nichol. Debbie is survived by her two sons, Cody and Nicholas; mother, Mary Lou Nichol; brother and sister-in-law, John and Ani Nichol; nephews, Jacob, Matthew and Zachary and many loving cousins. Debbie was a beloved mother, daughter, sister and aunt who will be remembered for her open heart and kind spirit. She was a graduated of Centerville High School in 1978. Debbie attended Wright State University where she received her B.S. in 1982 and was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She was a faith-filled parishioner of the Church of the Incarnation and was a first grade teacher for 31 years at Incarnation School. The families and students whom she taught could have asked for no one more dedicated; as teaching was in her heart and soul. Debbie enjoyed traveling, dancing, coaching cheerleaders, and spending summers with her family at the beach. She was an avid collector of Lladro figurines and David Winter cottages as well. She found great joy watching Cody play tennis as a young boy and develop as a college level tennis player. Nicholas's love of trumpet playing for the Centerville jazz and concert band brought many proud moments for Debbie as well. The family is very appreciative of the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the Incarnation family and the Centerville community. Special thanks to her friends Lisa, Helen and Susan and the many other friends Debbie grew to love over the years. The family will receive friends from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Monday, April 6th at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St. Centerville. OH. Morning prayers will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 7 at 9:30am and Mass will be held at 10:30am at the Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave. Centerville, OH. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful and compassionate care Debbie received at Kettering Memorial Hospital and Hospice of Dayton. Debbie will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her beautiful smile.
