Denis L. Hart

HART, Denis L, age 91, of Kettering, OH, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024. Denis was born on May 9, 1933, to the late Leo “Jack” and Grace Hart, in Cleveland, OH. While attending St. Edward High School, he met and later married his high school sweetheart Ann Evers. After high school, Denis served his country in the US Air Force. Following his military service, Denis and Ann continued their education at the University of Dayton where they both earned their B.A. and Master’s degrees in Education. Following his graduation, he began his long and successful career as an educator, predominantly with Dayton Public Schools, before his retirement. He was especially proud to have served as an administrator during the desegregation of the Dayton Public System. Denis and Ann were members of St. Albert the Great Catholic Parish for over 65 years and were heavily involved in Church activities. His caring and generous heart will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and son Philip Hart.

Denis is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Ann Hart, daughter Christina Hart, sister Maureen McLaughlin, and numerous close family and friends. 

A visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30am on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at St. Albert the Great Catholic Parish with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at noon. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the Mass will be available via St. Albert’s website. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Ohio Hospice of Dayton, especially Nurse Robin, and Homewell Home Care for all the compassionate care they provided Denis and Ann. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
