Dennis Mark Brown M.D., age 68, formerly of Centerville, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025. Dennis was born on September 24, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Thomas and Juanita (Heather) Brown. He was a graduate of Aiken High School in 1974 and received his undergraduate degree from the College of Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. He then attended Wright State University's Boonshoft School of Medicine and graduated in 1983. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Wright State University and then an Orthopedic Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Orthopedics at the Bone and Joint Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio. He started his career with Montgomery Orthopedics at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio and then with Premier Health Orthopedics at Miami Valley Hospital South. Dennis was a highly respected Orthopedic Surgeon who was passionate about his work and his patients. His professional memberships included the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the Ohio State Medical Association. Dennis was a member of NCR Country Club and KTC/Quail Tennis Clubs and Christ United Methodist Church where he offered his services as an usher. Dennis was extremely generous and made donations through the Dayton Foundation for many years.
Dennis was a man of many talents. He was a gifted surgeon who helped numerous patients throughout his career. Dennis was also an accomplished musician who played multiple instruments and had his own recording studio. He continued playing the piano and organ throughout his illness with aplastic anemia. He loved to play and watch tennis and looked forward every summer to attending the ATP in Cincinnati, Ohio. He loved traveling to Longboat Key, Florida with his family and enjoyed taking the family to Colorado every winter on ski trips. He was a beloved husband of 29 years, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Juanita Brown and mother-in-law, Nancy Waller. Dennis is survived by his wife, Beth Brown; daughter, Aleia Brown and boyfriend, Hussien Kazwini; son, Colin Brown; brother, Randy Brown and wife, Cheryl Brown; father-in-law, William Waller; sister-in-law, Bridget Sullivan and husband, Ed Sullivan; sister-in-law, Lori Moore and husband, Mike Moore; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, and dear friends.
Dennis was loved by his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will resonate through the lives he impacted.
The family will receive friends from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH 45429. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00PM on Thursday March 6, 2025, with a reception to follow also at Routsong Funeral Home with Rev. Gregory Ballard officiating. The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Hospice of Dayton, Miami Valley Hospital South, Miami Valley Hospital, and the Cincinnati Blood and Cancer Center.
