Desra N. Herbst

HERBST, Desra (Desi), age 65, passed away peacefully January 21, 2011 at Brighton Gardens in Washington Township after an extended illness. He proudly served his country in the Marines. Desi retired from Delphi after 37 years of service as an engineer. He was a member of David’s United Church of Christ where he served on the Board of Deacons and Council. Survived by his wife, Diane; sisters Naomi Anger of Atlanta, GA., and Kitty Woods of Webster, KY; sons James (Ioulia) of Ancient Corinth, Greece, Jeff (Joni) of Houston, TX, Jon (Julie) of Marysville, OH and their mother, Sally; daughter by marriage Erin Stauffer of Columbus, OH; son by marriage Brett (Elizabeth) Stauffer of Springboro, OH; grandchildren: Aaron, Jack, Owen, Sara-Maria, Evan, Ethan, Madeleine, Nikoletta and Lillyann; nieces and nephew: Cathy, Suzie, Jane and Del; and sister and brother in law, Joyce and James McClellan. The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the entire caring staff at Brighton Gardens and the loving caregivers from Crossroads Hospice. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 2:00PM at David’s UCC.
