Dolores Virginia Summers

SUMMERS, Dolores Virginia (Moore), born November 21, 1921 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Roland and Erma (Fetzer) Moore went home to be with the Lord on June 15, 2015 at the Suites at Walnut Creek. Dolores was a sophisticated beauty who worked at Leeland Electric as a coil winder after attending Steel High School. In 1942 she met husband Jim and the two were joined in marriage on Jan 1, 1943 in Miami, Fl where Jim was stationed with the U.S. Army. Dolores was a loving and devoted wife, mother and loyal member of Faith Lutheran Church. She enjoyed canning, making grape juice and jelly, doing yard work, assisting on home remodeling projects and providing immeasurable love and support for her loving husband and daughters. Additionally, Dolores enjoyed clipping coupons and recipes and reading the newspaper on a daily basis. She had a great appetite for food with a big sweet tooth all while never gaining a pound. Her pleasing smile, gentle kindness and sensitive concern for others will certainly be missed. Dolores was preceded in death by daughter, Virginia (Summers) Greene and late husband of 69 years, Jim, who passed in 2012. She is survived by sister, Mary Ellen (Moore) Dietz; daughter, Beverly (Summers) Ochs; grandchildren, Bill, Joe and Sharon Ochs, Brent and Brady Greene, and Melany (Greene) Richards; son-in-law Barry Greene, six great-grandchildren; and many other family members. Visitation will be held at 10:00am on Monday, June 22 at David's Mausoleum Chapel, 4600 Mad River Road, Kettering. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 also at David's Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Stephen Kimpel officiating. Dolores will be buried at David's Cemetery.
