BEDDIES, Donald Carl, Jr., age 76, went home to be with his Savior on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Donald was born in Dayton, Ohio on March 2, 1947 to Donald and Dixie (Wichael) Beddies Sr. He played football for Fairmont East High School, graduating in 1965. Don proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he worked on KC 135 airplanes. While in the service, he enjoyed playing baseball with his fellow Airmen. Don also enjoyed camping, fishing, karaoke, riding motorcycles and football thanks to Aaron Rogers of the Green Bay Packers. His real passion was NASCAR, where he was a driver and flag man at several local tracks, such as Kil-Kare Raceway, Shady Bowl, and Kentucky Speedway. Don loved serving others, whether it was behind the counter at his family’s dry cleaners, supervising the maintenance departments at several apartment communities, transporting his appreciative patients at Able ambulette service, or honorably serving as a motorcycle escort for several local funeral homes. He was also fortunate enough to own his own dump truck service as well as work side by side with his wife Lynda developing a lawn mowing service and commercial cleaning company.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Rex Beddies, his beloved daughter, Joanne Beddies and son, Howie Donahue. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 33 years, Lynda Beddies, brothers Glen and Larry (Cheri) Beddies, daughter Tammy (Steve) Meyer, Lisa (Shawn) Miller, Sherry (Chuck) Browning, sixteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and beloved dog Balloo “Blue”. Don is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many close friends and neighbors.
