WHIPP, Donald Clarence, age 90, of Centerville passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013.
Don graduated from Fairmont High School and served in the United States Army during WWII. He went to work for People's Bank, which became First National Bank, which became National City Bank, where he retired after sixty years.
Don was a member of Normandy United Methodist Church, the Dayton Masonic Lodge #147 for 60 years, AASR, and the Kettering Rotary Club for 47 years. He was treasurer of the Hipple Cancer Research Lab and many other organizations.
Don is preceded in death by his wife, Anne Whipp, and one sister and six brothers. He is survived by his children, Sue (Greg) Vreeland and Scott (Ann) Whipp; grandchildren, Amber (Chad) Vreeland Bowers, Tyler (Heather) Vreeland, Siobhan and Connor Whipp; great-grandchildren, Elliott and Julien Bowers and Brody Vreeland; previous wife, Pat Whipp, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family will greet friends from 5:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. Funeral and Masonic services will take place at 11:00am on Thursday, May 16, 2013 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at David's Cemetery.
