Donald Curtis White

WHITE, Donald Curtis, age 82, of Washington Township, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019. Don was born on June 25, 1937 in Piqua, OH to the late Elmer and Kathryn (nee Webster) White. He graduated from Piqua Central High School in 1955 and attended Bowling Green State University.

He was a descendent of Jeremiah White, a member of the First Families of Ohio as designated by the Ohio Genealogical Society. Almost all of Don’s career was spent in sales, working his way up to National Sales Manager at Atlas Underwear and its successor companies in Piqua. After leaving Medalist/Allen-A, he remained in the outdoor/athletic wear industry as the mid-west sales representative for AMF Head and was active in the Midwestern Representatives Association. Don transitioned into furniture sales in Dayton, first with Roberds and then with Elder-Beerman Furniture Gallery before retiring. He was a sports enthusiast, tried out for the Cincinnati Reds farm system, and was an active outdoorsman keenly passionate about fishing to which he dedicated himself in retirement. He was involved in civic and community organizations in Piqua until moving from the city in 1977. Most recently, Don served as the President of the Lake Washington Condominium Homeowners Association in Centerville for seven years. He was a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Ohio State football, and University of Dayton basketball.

Don is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Ann (nee Simons) Klaus White; children, Steve (Jeanne) White, Beth (Jim) Hudson, Jeni (Clay) Bates; step-children, Kathy (Mitch) Klass, Mike Klaus, Tom Klaus, Greg (Leigh Ann) Klaus, Julie (Scott) Wheeler; sister, Karen (Wayne) Teems; 20 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 nieces and a nephew.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at 2:00PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N Main St, Centerville with a visitation beginning at 12:30PM at the funeral home.
