Donald Ellis Holsapple

HOLSAPPLE, Donald Ellis, age 84, of Oakwood, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Donald was born to the late Ellis and Marion Holsapple on June 5, 1930 in Dayton, OH. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1948, the University of Dayton in 1954 and Officer Candidate School in RI. Donald worked as an engineer at WPAFB. He was a member of Miami Valley Bridge Association and St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. Donald was an educated man with an interest in investments, computers, science and space. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, staying active and supporting the Dayton Flyers. Donald is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rita Altenberg and son Thomas Scott Holsapple. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dolores; children, Tina (Bob) Holsapple Donelan, Curt (Susan) Holsapple, and Jill (Michael) Holsapple Matacia; grandchildren, Megan and Kevin Holsapple, James Emery, Sophia, Ruby and Eliza Matacia, and Shayna and Robert III Donelan; and many other loving relatives and friends. The family will greet friends from 11:00am-12:00pm on Monday, June 16, 2014 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave. Kettering with a Memorial Mass to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Dayton Alumni Association in Donald's name.
