Donald Harry Brown

BROWN, Donald H. "D", age 87, a lifelong resident of Dayton, OH passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton. Don was born on August 16, 1920 to Harry and Lyda Brown. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Thomas H. Brown. Don is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Virginia (Ginney) Brown and his daughters, Carolyn (Michael) Darr and Joan "Josie" Dever; four grandchildren, Jeffrey(Kerri) Dever, Kristen Dever, Jared (Cassie) Darr and Nathan Darr as well as two great-grandsons, Jackson Darr and Anthony Bray. He is also survived by his sister, Doris J. Graves, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Don was a World War II Veteran, serving in the United States Army, 13th Armored Division. He retired from the Bendix Corp. after 35 years. Don was an accomplished woodworker, leaving behind many cherished items. He could repair anything, especially mechanical. If it was broken, he would fix it. The family will receive friends from 4-7:00 PM on Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Saturday at the funeral home. Burial David's Cemetery. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the EMT drivers, the staffs of Heartland of Kettering, The Oaks of West Kettering, Dialysis Centers of Dayton South and Hospice of Dayton for their special care.
