age 94, a lifelong resident of Dayton passed away Friday, February 2, 2007 at Lincoln Park Manor. Don was a graduate of Steele High School and the Ohio State University, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and retired after a full career at DP&L. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and a beloved member of the Dayton Country Club, where his smiling face will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Viola (McConnaughey) Spindler and by his wife, Dorothea “Dottie” Spindler, whom he cherished and adored. Don is survived by his sister, Margaret Siegfried, of Middletown; nephew, David G. Siegfried, of Miamisburg; niece, Jeanne Mayer, of Washington D.C.; special friends, Ann Marie and Tim McCormick and Terry and Harry Calcutt. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 5, 2007 at Woodland Mausoleum Chapel, 118 Woodland Ave., Dayton with Rev. Dr. Brooks Heck officiating. Entombment in Woodland Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
