Calvert, Donald Thomas On Monday, May 21, 2018, retired pastor, Don Calvert, passed away at the age of 90 years old. His family will miss him dearly. Don graduated from Western Hills High School in 1946. He earned a BS in Philosophy & History from the University of Cincinnati in 1950 and a Masters of Divinity from Eden Seminary in 1953. After becoming ordained at Immanuel UCC in 1953, Don served the Lord in many ways. Among those, he was pastor in the United Church of Christ in Anderson Twp., OH and Ft. Thomas, KY. He also served as Chaplain at Longview State Hospital from 1967 to 1976 and Trinity Community Retirement Home in Beavercreek, OH from 1984 to 1997. Don was preceded in death by his loving wife, Erma Calvert. He is survived by two sons, Donald T. and Jeff D. (Cheryl) as well as his grandchildren, Ross (Karen), Alicia, Alison, Jake, and Josh and great-grandchildren Owen, Cole, and Ariana. Don also has a loving family of five stepchildren, Dorothy Nixon (Gerald), Marjorie Gambrel (Bev), Dolores Rothenberger (Charlie), David Brummett (Denise), and Mark Brummett (Bonnie) as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitors will be received where we will celebrate Dons life on Sunday, June 3, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with services following from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. at St. Pauls United Church of Christ, Churchill Drive, Ft. Thomas, KY. A meal will be provided after the service. Don will be buried at Evergreen Cemetery , 25 Alexandria Pike, Southgate, KY on Monday, June 4, 9:00 a.m. Funeral services provided by Routsong Funeral Home, Kettering, OH.
