age 80, of Kettering, passed away Friday, April 2, 2004, at Heartland of Kettering. Preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Sarah Lindamood and his brother, Emerson Lindamood. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary; 2 daughters, Cynthia (Dave) Youngerman of Kettering and Christie (Seth) Taylor of San Antonio, TX; and 3 grandchildren, Matt (Diana) Youngerman, Mark Youngerman and Spencer Taylor. He graduated from Kenton High School, Kenton, OH, where he had the lead in the senior class play, “Our Town”. Don went to Ohio State University from where he entered the Air Force during World War II. He served in the 8th Air Force, 94th Bombardment Group, 332nd Squadron, as a Radio Operator on B-17’s. The planes flew out of Rougham Field, Suffolk County, Bury St. Edmunds, England. Don was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal (5 Oak Leaf Clusters), Good Conduct Medal, American Theatre Medal, Euopean Theatre Medal (4 Bronze Stars), WWII Victory Medal, French Liberte Medal and 2 Presidential Unit Citations. Upon his discharge, he returned to Ohio State University where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. Don joined NCR and worked for 39 years, retiring in 1986 from the Systemedia Traffic Department. He was a past president of 94th Bomb Group Memorial Assn., a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church, John Durst Lodge 716 F&AM, Miami Valley Traffic Club and the Dayton Jaycees. Don was also a Junior Achievement Advisor. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, at Fairmont Presbyterian Church, 3705 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, with the Dr. Robert Wade officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5-8:00 PM, Tuesday, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 40 S. Perry St., Ste. 120, Dayton, OH 45402.
