HANES, Donald Woodward, age 93, of Dayton, passed away May 13, 2017 at home. Donald was born November 22, 1923 in Beavercreek to Jacob & Minnie Hanes. He was very proud of his time served in the Army Air Corp during WWII in the 410th Bomb group where he flew 65 missions in an A-20. Donald worked for many years at Chrysler Airtemp and then later retired at Tait Pump. He loved golfing, fishing, boating, hunting, and most of all his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; 7 brothers, and 2 sisters. Donald is survived by son, Michael; daughter, Linda; grandchildren, Nickie (Scott) Darner, Ashleigh (Matt) Shock, Christopher; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Darner, Kaden Shock, Kohen Shock; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00pm on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering. Funeral service will be at 10:00am on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home. Burial at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a charitable contribution to Hospice of Dayton.
