Donna Lee Zajovits

ZAJOVITS, Donna Lee (Sanders), age 82 of Kettering, Ohio passed away Monday, November 16, 2015. Donna was born June 14, 1933. She graduated from Wilbur Wright High School in 1952. After graduating, she married her sweetheart, Richard (Dick) Zajovits, on November 20, 1954 and shared 57 wonderful years with him. In 1970, she began her career as a hairdresser and eventually owned and operated Donna Lee's Boutique. In retirement, she continued her passion working as a hairdresser for many retirement homes and nursing homes. Her proudest job was putting the final touches to families' memories at Routsong Funeral Home for over forty years. She took great pleasure in helping people go to heaven looking beautiful. She was a devoted wife, mother, "maw," and friend of many. She truly enjoyed her dinners and picnics with her Wilbur Wright friends, who meant so very much to her. She enjoyed playing golf with her husband in Tennessee and the Kettering YMCA Ladies group. Cooking was her special gift, winning many blue ribbons at local fairs. Donna was involved with Beta Sigma Psi Sorority, Laureate Psi Chapter, YMCA, American Legion Post 598, and volunteered throughout the community at the Victoria Theater, Memorial Hall, and the LPGA and the Hipple Cancer Research Center golf tournaments. Throughout her life, she took great delight in her dogs and her many granddogs. Donna was preceded in death by parents Elbert (Al) and Mary Sanders, her devoted husband and best friend Richard, and sister June Fleck. She is survived by sons Bob and Rick Zajovits, daughter Linda (Cary) Behymer, brothers Dale and Thurman Sanders, sister Joan Meyers, her grandsons Chris, Brad, and Michael Behymer, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved pet, Molly. Donna will be remembered for her generosity, optimism, kind heart, and gentle spirit. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched, but will live forever in our hearts. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 4:00-8:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road. Kettering, Ohio 45429. Funeral services will be Friday, November 20, 2015 at 10:00am also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in David's Cemetery. The family would like to thank Hospice Dayton for their compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Dayton or the Alzheimer's Association. Donna's greatest joy in life was loving and caring for her family and friends. In the spirit of the way she lived her life, Donna asks that everyone take an older person out to lunch or go on a visit with them to simply bring joy and happiness to someone's life and a smile to their face.
