Dorothea Kupka-Tyner

October 17, 1930 — February 20, 2005

KUPKA-TYNER, Dorothea passed away February 20, 2005. She was born in Giessen Germany in 1930. In 1947, she fled communist East Germany to Freiburg West Germany. She attended Freiburg University earning her degrees in Economics and in Education. She met her future husband, Friedrich Kupka in 1950 and they wed in 1957. After her husband died, she immigrated to the Untied States. Dorothea taught German and Math in Orange County, CA. In Dayton, she was very active in a German Ladies club. Dorothea is survived by her loving son, Karl (Dorthy) Kupka, her grandson, Ashton; granddaughter, Aria; and by her stepson, Troy Tyner. Dorothea will be remembered for her artistic and creative cooking, strong sense of giving and belief in family. Dorothea will be interred at Calvary Cemetery at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 with Pastor Angela Schenck officiating at the Calvary Chapel. Friends and well-wishers are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the First Presbyterian Church of Yellow Springs, 314 Xenia Ave., Yellow Springs, OH 45387.
