THOMAS, Dorothy K., 92, of Jefferson Township, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018. Dorothy was born on September 13, 1925 to Thomas and Margaret (Hardy) Kearns in Marquette County, WI.
She worked at the Frigidaire Plant in Moraine for nearly 30 years, with her husband, Bill.
She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. She was an active member of VFW Post 3438 of West Carrollton, American Legion Post 165 of Miamisburg, and The Fraternal Order of Eagles 2306 of Miamisburg. She loved getting her family and friends together and was always famous for her cooking and baking (her pumpkin cookies, red velvet cake, and miracle whip cake were legendary).
Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, William Bill Thomas; son Tim Thomas; William Kearns; Helen Beckett; James Kearns; Thomas Kearns; Rose Marie Brunt. Dorothy is survived by her children Tom (Marilyn) Thomas and Toni Moore, daughter-in-law Janet Thomas(Tim); grandchildren Mike (Nichole) Thomas, Kelly Thomas, Denise (Louie) Wargo, Beth Pryor, Heather (Dennis) Gray, Devon (Matt) Barnes, Michael Moore, and Sean Moore; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother Thomas Hardy; sisters Jean Rosmonowski and Carol Killoran; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at 5pm on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering, 45429. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 6 South 3rd St, Miamisburg, 45342.
