In Loving Memory of Dorothy F. Mohan

Dorothy (Dottie) F. Mohan, age 88 of Fairmont Senior Living, formerly of Oakwood passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023 under hospice care.

Born in Dayton, Ohio on March 19, 1935 to Peter E. and Dorothy (Walker) Mohan. A beloved daughter, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by Diane (Joe) Scott, Kathleen (Scott) Workman. Grandchildren, Ben (Emily) Scott, Molly (Ronnie) Stump, Michael Scott, Christie (PJ) Kelly. Great grandchildren, Walker and Miller Scott, Sara and Liam Kelly. She is preceded in death by her parents and son, J. Michael Faiella.

Dottie graduated from Oakwood High School in 1953, attended Ohio University and later in life received an Assoc. Degree in Computer Science and a BS from Antioch College. She started her sales career for United Airlines in the Old Biltmore Hotel in downtown Dayton spanning 15+ years which included working in many cities and retiring from United in 1990. She then worked in sales for Comair and NCR's Travel Dept. She always had a love for computers which prompted her to go back to school for her degrees and continued to work in that field.

Her love for history led her to buy a home in the St. Anne's Hill historical district, living there for 17 years. Dottie ended her work career as the office manager of St. Mary Catholic Church, and Mary Queen of Peace School.

Her many interests included travel, reading, and bridge, always putting her grandchildren first. She had a curiosity for anything new and different and acted upon it to expand her knowledge. Dottie served on numerous boards wherever she lived or worked.

In remembrance of Dottie, a visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the Routsong Funeral Home in Kettering.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 310 Allen St. with Father Len Wenke presiding.

Following Dottie's wishes, her earthly remains will be cremated, and her remains to be buried at a later time at the family's convenience.
