AYERS, Duane, age 89, of Dayton, OH passed away on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015.
He was born in Milwaukee, WI. Duane proudly served in the US Marine Corp. with the 26th Marines 5th Division during WWII. In retirement he volunteered at Sycamore Hospital, The Dayton Museum of Art, and Cox Arboretum. Duane was an avid reader and a lifetime learner. He also threw a pretty mean bocce ball.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty; his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin (Cheryl) Ayers; and his daughter, Mary Yinger. He is survived by his children, Eileen (Brad) Johnson, Katherine (Scott) Brown and Carol Covill; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Family will greet friends from 10:00am-12:00pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the M.S. Society of Dayton. We raise our glass to you dad, Slinte.
