Duane P. Ayers

AYERS, Duane P., age 83, loving son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude B. Ayers and Eva (nee Tetrault) Ayers Driscoll and brother, Douglas Ayers. Duane is survived by his sister, Doris M. Smith; nieces and nephews, Claudia Kuntz, Phillip Ayers, Latisha Faler, Amy Swaney, Susan Delphenich, Colleen Richards and Matthew Smith. He was born in Ogden, Utah and spent most of his life in Xenia, OH. Duane was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church. He was a hard worker at the Modern Trailer Court in Xenia and also enjoyed working at Engels Florist in Xenia arranging the plants and roses. Duane enjoyed talking with his friends on his CB radio, going by the handle of "Big Stick" and his main love was following the weather on his weather stations and keeping up with the news. He also loved bird watching and watching nature shows on the television. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Dayton for their excellent care and compassion. Also, Sr. Corey of St. Brigid and his care giver and friend, Anita Henry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 312 Fairground Rd. Xenia, OH. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service (10:00am-11:00am) at the church.
