Earl Bud, Buddy Norvell

NORVELL, Earl (Bud, Buddy) age 77, of Dayton passed away peacefully in his home December 9, 2005. After graduation from Roosevelt High School in 1946, Bud went to work for Lau Blower Co., where he remained until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed staying busy walking and jogging, swimming, doing yard work, visiting with friends, and most of all, spending time with his family. He was a member of the F & AM. Bud was afflicted with Parkinson’s disease for fifteen years, but he accepted his challenges with grace and dignity. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He loved his family and valued his friends and will be remembered by all as a good man--a man of God--who lived his life with great integrity. We’ll miss him so much. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Chester & Etta (Jones) Norvell; brothers, Robert, Willard, and Ray, and longtime, much cared for companion, Caroline Gilkison. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Jim) Miller of Toledo; sons, Rick (Jeane) of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Greg (Lynn) of Lebanon, TN and their beloved mother, Joy, of Lebanon, TN; grandchildren, Ben, Cale and Ellen, and Nick and Lexy; brothers, Homer (Geneva) and Alfred (Betty); sisters, Francis Orill, Mary (Gene) Bicknell, Marie (Jack) McGowan, Devona (Cecil) Rose, and youngest sister, Shirley Angel, who lived with him and lovingly cared for him for the past seven years. He also leaves behind brother-in-law, Jim Copley; sisters-in-law, Norma Stenger and Sharon Adams, and many special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment at Centerville Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
