age 90 of Dayton, died Saturday, February 23, 2002. Edith graduated from Miami University in 1954 and did graduate work at the University of Dayton. She taught school for 34 years with 27 of those years in the Kettering Schools. Edith was a member of Kettering Senior Citizens, Burrow of Dayton and the Belmont Eastern Star. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lewis Mansfield in 1993; 4 sisters, Beatrice Misner, Loretta Burd, Goldie McGirr and Wynona Marshall; and a brother, Owen Pierce. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda L. and James David Spears; 2 grandsons, Dr. Andrew Spears and his wife, Dr. Karen Sun of Denver, CO and great granddaughter, Emily and James Spears of Cleveland, OH and his fiancé, Nancy Germain; and a sister, Glenna Foran of Defiance, OH. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, with Rev. Cecelia Sledge officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 7:00 PM, Friday in the funeral home with Belmont Eastern Star Service immediately following. Graveside services at 1:00 PM, Saturday, in South Canaan Cemetery, Athens, OH. If desired, contributions may be made to the Kettering Education Foundation, Kettering City Schools, 3750 Far Hills Ave. Kettering, OH 45429-2506.
