Edna Valencia Palileo

PALILEO, Edna Valencia, age 91, of Kettering, passed away Tuesday, June 07, 2011. Edna graduated from the University of the Philippines, College of Pharmacy and then ran Palileo's Dispensary in Pila and Pagsanjan, Laguna, Philippines. She volunteered at Kettering Hospital where she was recognized for 'Distinguished Service' including knitting bonnets for the hospital's newborns. Edna was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church where she was active in the Stephen Ministry. Preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 yrs., Dr. Lauro Palileo, M.D. and daughter-in-law Dr. Maggie Palileo, M.D. She is survived by sons Dr. Edwin Palileo, M.D. of Tampa, FL., and Glenn Palileo of Kettering; daughters Kay (Tito) de Leon of Centerville, OH. and Hazel Palileo of Calgary, Canada; grandchildren Carl Palileo of Denver, CO., Maia Palileo of Brooklyn, NY., and Dr. A.J. Palileo, M.D. of Brooklyn, NY., Anthony Palileo of CA., Alan Palileo of CA., Alexis de Leon of Queens, NY., Justin de Leon of Delaware; numerous nieces and nephews in the U.S. and Philippines; friends at St. George's Episcopal Church; fellow volunteers at Kettering Memorial Hospital and friends from the Philippine-American Society of Greater Dayton. Visitation will be held at 5:00-7:00PM on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, June 10 at St. George's Episcopal Church, 5520 Far Hills Ave., Kettering. Interment will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens at a later date.
