SCHWINN, Edward Adam, age 89, of Centerville, formerly of Oakwood, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2018.
Edward was born to Edward Albert and Beulah Grace (nee Hunsberger) Schwinn on August 16, 1928 in Barberton, OH. He graduated from Stivers High School, Ohio Wesleyan University with a Bachelors of Science and from Miami University with a Masters of Education. Edward served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, spent most of his professional career at NCR Corp. and was a long time member and Ruling Elder of Fairmont Presbyterian Church. He was patient man with a sense of humor who loved to learn new things and strongly dedicated to his family, friends, and community.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles and Robert Schwinn; sisters, Helen Probst and Dorothy White. He was survived by his loving wife of nearly 62 years, Betty Jean; son, James (Laura) Schwinn; brother, William (Betsy) Schwinn and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Bethany for all the wonderful care they gave to Edward.
The family will greet friends from 10:00am-11:00am on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Brian Maguire officiating. Burial will be at Davids Cemetery.
