Elaine Alice Groner

GRONER, Elaine A. age 84, passed away peacefully Monday, March 22 at Hospice of Cincinnati. Born September 3, 1925 in Middletown, Ohio, the daughter of Paul and Dorothy (McGaw) Barnaby. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, John Groner, Also surviving are 2 daughters, Susan and husband Dale W. Steele of Bellbrook, Ohio, and Robin and husband Chip Nielsen of Cincinnati, Ohio. Surviving also are grandchildren Jonathan, Andrew, and Amy Nielsen, Kathryn and Bruce Forrester, Ryan and Kyle Steele, and sister-in-law, Carolyn Barnaby. Elaine graduated from Fairmont High School and attended DePauw University where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she served as deacon and was a longtime member of the Sigma Presby group. Elaine and John enjoyed spending time working on their home and garden and treasured the time spent with family and friends. She will be deeply missed. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 125 N. Wilkinson St, Dayton, Ohio 45402.
