SPEARS, Elgia Mae, age 84 of Kettering, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton. Elgia was preceded in death by her loving husband Ova D. Spears and her three brothers, Cecil Rudolph, Elster Dean and Donald Hutchinson and her sister Betty Watts. She was a volunteer at Miami Valley Hospital and recognized as a member of the Key Club for her service. Elgia is survived by her daughters Kathy (Robert) Haney of Beavercreek and Donna Carroll of Kettering; two sons George (Leslie) Spears of Jamestown and Dennis (Patricia) Spears of Dayton; sisters Billie Holbrook and Mary Abrams; grandchildren Jennifer (Mark) Hughes, Meghan Spears, Morgan Spears, George Dane Spears, Andrea Haney, Robert Haney, Jeffery Carroll, Stephen Carroll, Douglas Carroll and Brian (Lena) Spears; and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 10:00AM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering with Pastor Dianne Lawson-Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420. Condolences and other remembrances may be sent to the family at www.routsong.com.
