Elizabeth Ann Griest

age 85, of Dayton passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Hospice of Dayton. A member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was born on June 25, 1917 in Dayton, OH and was a 1935 graduate of Steele High School. Elizabeth graduated from Miami Jacobs Junior College, attended Ohio State University and graduated from Grant Hospital in Chicago as a Hospital Medical Records Librarian. Elizabeth worked at Miami Valley Hospital as head of the Medical Records Department. Preceded in death by her parents, Dr. C. Sidney Smith and Marie G. Boyer; 1 brother, Webster Smith, and 1 sister, Gennett Smith. Survived by her husband of 60 years, Edwin K. Griest; son, David E. and wife, Karen of NY; 2 daughters, Jane E. Griest of Dayton and Ellen M. Griest of IN; 2 grandchildren, Kendra and husband, David Rogers of NY, and Kenneth Griest of MA; brother, Luther Smith of TX and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held, Monday, April 7, 2003 at 1:30 PM at the Woodland Mausoleum Chapel, 118 Woodland Ave., Dayton with the Rev. Dr. Bryan Palmer-Smith and Rev. Ed Puff officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery. Family will greet friends Sunday afternoon from 2-5:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 6 Oakwood Ave., Oakwood.
