Elizabeth Ellis Bowman

BOWMAN, “Bette” Elizabeth E., 84 of Kettering passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007. Bette was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Mac Bowman, in 2005. She was an AVID fan of the Cincinnati Reds. Bette graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in History. She worked with the cryptography group in Washington, DC during WW II. She taught dance class and performed on stage. She was also active in her community and neighborhood. Bette is survived by 2 daughters; Susan Bowman and Nancy (Lance) McKinney both of Springboro, OH and 2 sons; John (Pam) Bowman of Kettering, OH and Rick (Jackie) Bowman of Dayton; 3 grandchildren; Natalie (Thomas) Jenkins and Ken Folino both of Dayton, OH and Stefanie Folino of Centerville, OH; 2 great-granddaughters; Emma & Ava Jenkins; brother; William “Billy” (Donna) Ellis of Toledo, OH and several nieces, nephews and many great friends. Funeral services will be held 10:00AM Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering, OH with Pastor Linda Davis officiating. Burial will be in David’s Cemetery in Kettering, OH. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
