DURIG, Elmer C., age 89, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2006. He was born May 3, 1917 and preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nola Durig, brother, Edward Durig, sister, Charlene White, and daughter-in-law, Kay Durig. He is survived by Hilda his loving wife of 68 years; sons, Merrill Durig, Martin (Teresa) Durig, and daughter, Marian (Dick) Bauer, eight grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law , Betty Durig, Carolyn (Jim) Strong and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Elmer graduated from Roosevelt High School, was an NCR employee of 39 years, a Navy veteran of WWII, and a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Savior. He was an avid woodworker, taught at Rosewood Art Center in Kettering and volunteered at We Care Arts. He also loved the game of golf and played at NCR Country Club and was the oldest volunteer at the Senior PGA in 2005. Family will receive relatives and friends from 12 to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville, with the service following at 2:00 PM. Internment will be at David’s Cemetery.
