BINDERNAGEL, Elza Mildred, age 101, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016. She died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.
Elza was born July 17, 1915 in London, England. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 51 years, Richard, and her sister, Joan.
Elza was a war bride and moved to Ohio in 1946 and lived in Cleveland for 16 years before moving to Kettering. She worked for Rike's Department Store until her retirement. After her retirement she volunteered at Womanline until the age of 90. Elza loved to cook and to travel, but most of all, to be with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son John Bindernagel and daughter Cathy Harritos (George). Grandchildren: Kimberley White, Heather Nagel (Matthew), Lisa Head (Scott). Great Grandchildren: Dustin and Mackenzie White, Alex and Amelia Nagel and Kaden and Kyler Head. She will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews and her brother-in-law, Jack Bindernagel.
The family will receive friends from 11am-1:00pm on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering, with funeral services to be held at 1:00pm. Rev. Dr. Michael Castle officiating.
Burial in David's Cemetery.
