Emily Virginia Sharkey

Sharkey, Emily V., age 96, of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Emily was born in 1924, to the late William and Annette Jones, in Baltimore, MD. Emily spent many years in California before moving to the Dayton area with her husband Dr. Thomas Sharkey. Emily was an avid gardener and always loved spending time outdoors. She was sophisticated and timeless, and loved traveling the world to see other cultures. More than anything Emily was dedicated to her family, and loved nothing more than spending time with her loved ones.

Preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Thomas Sharkey; and son Thomas Sharkey Jr; and her ten siblings.

Survived by granddaughter, Erin (Matthew) Fisher; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Madison; daughter-in-law Joël Hatmaker; grandson Earl (Megan) Hatmaker; great-grandchildren Emerson, Iris, and Atwood; and several great-nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial at Dayton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
