Eric Duane Thompson

THOMPSON, Eric Duane, age 50, of Waynesville, departed us on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from medical complications. Eric was born on December 30, 1968 in Dayton, OH. He worked as a sheet metal worker and was a former Navy shipmate. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Blanche Thompson. Eric is survived by his father, Lloyd Gene Thompson, of Waynesville; two sisters, Roxi Thompson, of Waynesville, Jill Smith and husband, Jack Smith, of Wilmington; two nieces, Brittany Reed and husband, Tyler Reed, of Waynesville; and Danielle Howard and husband, Jimmy Howard, of Crescent Springs, KY; one nephew, Brycin Katzenbach, of Waynesville; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces, and great nephews. Eric loved his family and friends with all his heart, and was often seen or heard making those around him bust out in laughter. Eric was a true kid at heart with interests in comic book movies, Sci-fi novels/movies, and loved exploring the world around him with many trips around the country and worldwide. A Gathering of Friends will be held at 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, August 23, at Corwin Pentecostal Church, in the church hall. Phillip Hoskins will officiate.
